ABSTRACT

Objective:To investigate the efficacy of laparoscopic myomectomy with a baseball-style suture technique in the treatment of hysteromyoma. Methods:Sixty patients with hysteromyoma who received treatment in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, The Second People's Hospital of Hefei, China between July 2018 and July 2020 were included in this study. They were randomly assigned to observation and control groups with 30 patients per group. The observation group was subjected to laparoscopic myomectomy with a baseball-style suture technique. The control group was given laparoscopic myomectomy with a continuous suture technique. Intraoperative indices and postoperative complications were compared between the two groups. Results:Operative time in the observation group was significantly shorter than that in the control group [(98.06 ± 35.41) minutes vs. (119.39 ± 33.65) minutes, t = 2.39, P < 0.05]. Intraoperative blood loss in the observation group was significantly less than that in the control group [(28.33 ± 9.56) mL vs. (46.17 ± 13.08) mL, t = 6.36, P < 0.05]. The percentage of intraoperative needle-hole bleeding in the observation group was significantly lower than that in the control group [16.67% (5/30) vs. 46.67% (14/30), χ 2 = 6.23, P < 0.05). The time to anal exhaust and the time to drainage in the observation group were (19.21 ± 5.77) hours and (59.07 ± 18.85) hours, respectively, which were significantly shorter than (25.39 ± 9.65) hours and (77.22 ± 27.07) hours in the control group ( t = 3.01, 3.02, both P < 0.05). The incidence of postoperative fever in the observation group was significantly lower than that in the control group [3.33% (1/30) vs. 26.67% (8/30), χ 2 = 4.70, P < 0.05]. Conclusion:Laparoscopic myomectomy with a baseball-style suture technique is highly effective on hysteromyoma. It can improve the safety of operation and has a great clinical value.

ABSTRACT

Objective To analyze the relationship between sleep duration, screen viewing time, and the prevalence of overweight/obesity among primary school students in Xuzhou. Methods Using a cluster sampling method, a total of 3 228 students (including 1 679 boys and 1 549 girls with an average age of 10.78±0.69 years) from grade one to six from 10 primary schools in Xuzhou underwent interview using a self?designed questionnaire containing basic characteristics, sleep duration, and screen viewing time. Data on height and weight were also collected. The relationship between sleep duration, screen viewing time, and overweight/obesity was analyzed using a logistic regression analysis. Results The prevalence rates of overweight among boys and girls were 16.56% and 11.94%, respectively (χ2=13.59, P<0.05). The prevalence rates of obesity among boys and girls were 14.47% and 10.07%, respectively (χ2=14.01, P<0.05). In total, 74.41% students reported a lack of sleep; the average sleeping time was (9.24±1.07) h. The average sleeping time among boys was (9.35 ± 1.12) h and among girls was (9.13 ± 1.03) h. The difference in sleep duration between boys and girls was significant (t=5.79, P<0.05). The differences in sleep duration and overweight/obesity were significant between both boys (χ2=18.62, P<0.05) and girls (χ2=21.14, P<0.05). Regarding screen viewing time, 17.29% of students spent more than 2 hours per day viewing a screen. The difference in screen viewing time between boys and girls was significant (Z=3.02, P=0.014). The proportion of children with screen viewing time of more than 2 h/d among overweight/obese and healthy weight male students was 29.50% (82/278) and 22.56% (316/1401), respectively, which was significantly different (χ2=6.18, P=0.01). However, there was no significant difference when examining the same groups among girls (12.98% (24/185;obese/overweight) vs . 9.97% (136/1364; healthy weight); χ2=1.59, P=0.21). After adjusting for parental obesity, eating sweets, and physical activity, logistic regression analysis showed that students who had a sleep duration less than 10 h/d had an odds ratio of 1.4 (95% CI: 1.15-1.71), the odds ratio for boys and girls was 1.56 (95% CI: 1.13-2.14) and 1.69 (95% CI: 1.15-2.46). The students who had a screen viewing time of more than 2 h/d had an odds ratio of 1.14 (95% CI: 1.05-1.80); the odds ratio for boys in this group was 1.18 (95% CI: 1.03-1.67). Conclusion Short sleep duration is a risk factor for being overweight/obese in both boys and girls. However, long screen viewing times were associated with being overweight/obese only in boys.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the clinical value and safety of thoracoscopic lung biopsy in the diagnosis of diffuse parenchymal lung diseases. Methods 35 patients with diffuse parenchymal lung disease underwent thoraco-scopic lung biopsy were reviewed in order to obtain clinical and pathological data. Results 31 cases were diagnosed by pathology, and the total positive diagnostic rate was 88.6 % (31/35), 10 cases as usual interstitial pneumonial (UIP), 6 cases as Tuberculosis, 4 cases as alveolar cell carcinoma, 3 cases as nonspecific interstitial pneumonia (NSIP), 3 cases as crypto-genieorganizingpneumonia (COP), 2 cases as pulmonary alveolar proteinosis (PAP), 1 case as Wegener's granulomatosis (WG), 1 case as acute interstitial pneumonia (AIP), 1 case as lymphangioleiomyomatosis (LAM). 3 cases (8.6 %) were occurred with postoperative complications, 2 cases as pulmonary infection combined with respiratory failure, 1 case as idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis with acute exacerbation, and 2 cases (5.7 %) were complicated with death. Conclusions Thoracoscopic lung biopsy is a safe and effective method which helps final di-agnosis of diffuse parenchymal lung disease.

ABSTRACT

Objective To explore the diagnostic value of CT hypotonic colonography in carcinoma of colon. Methods A total of 55 cases who were diagnosed as ileus, abdomen mass or suspected colonic carcinoma clinically were undergone CT hypotonic clolonography in six years recently,in our hospital.Of them,CT data of 35 cases identified by pathology were analysed retrospectively. Results CT diagnosis was corresponded to the pathologic results in 34 cases .Of them,33 cases were colonic adenocarcinoma(1 case with intussusception of ileum-colon type),one case was abdominal multiple metastatic adenocarcinoma. One case with cecal inflammation and granulation tissues hyperplasia was misdiagnosed for colonic carcinoma by CT.21 of 35 cases were undergone colongraphy,of them,15 cases were diagnosed as colonic carcinoma,1 case was normal, colonographic failure occurred in one case and 4 cases were false negative. Conclusion Hypotonic water perfusion CT scan in the cases permitted under clinical condition(patient with ileus should be perfused with 3% meglumine diatrizoate) can display clearly the primary focus, the position and range of ileus, surrounding organ. It is more excellent than conventional CT and X-ray examination.
